what was material utilized on trunk panel & how was it installed underneath brace panels? it appears to have a matte pattern maybe??

Mike, The original material was installed before the outer skin, thereby entrapping it between the skin and inner brace. Restorers today must cut the material to fit like a jigsaw puzzle between the braces. I know a correct substitute material is available, someone else can tell you the name of it and where to get it. Drake sells a pretty good reproduction of this material. He calls it "waffle weave insulation". You can piece it in as mentioned previously or if you are like me and want a beautiful (and authentic) job, remove the inner structure of the lid, install a full piece and reassemble the lid.
