Topic: Glove Box

I have a 40 Deluxe coupe and need to know if all glove boxes had the interior fabric lining colored tan? Mine was tan in color but replacements seem to run in blue/grey only. Any ideas would be welcome, especially as to where I might find one in tan color.

Thanks--------Pete

Pete, I have an early 40 Deluxw Coupe. It has the original glove box,and the material is a tan in color and felt-like in feel.

In checking with Drake and Macs, they don't have anything but light blue-----any supplier have a "reproduction" glove box in light tan or tan or something other than blue?????

This is funny in a sick way. I just read the Drake catalog and found (quote) "A perfect fit. Each is an exact copy designed to fit and look just like the original. We use the same high quality materials as Ford did".(unquote).
Many of you know I have a particular disdain for the way Drake does business. Much of his advertising is devious, some is downright false.
This is yet another one of those cases.
Not only do the Deluxe 1940 boxes lack the grommet for the clock wire, not only is the felt lining incorrect, the box itself is folded vs. the authentic which were rolled. In other words ...poopy.
On the concourse, expect a deduction.
Add to this the fact he sells one box for all 1940 passenger cars as being "correct". Really? And here I thought the Ford V8 models (standard) had a plain (not lined) black box.
