Topic: Correct material and color for package tray in 40

Hey Mike, I was looking at an interior photo of your 40 coupe (the Lyon Blue one) and it appears as though the package tray material is a tan color.

I just received package tray material for my coupe and Labaron Bonney sent me material that's a medium to dark brown color. I've seen other 40s that have very dark brown and even black package trays. My question is what is the correct color?

Also, if possible, I'd like to get more photos of your 40. I've had prints made of the one you use in your profile picture, but you've got a d*mn parking meter obstructing the front end! Any chance I can get more shots of the engine, exterior an interior?

Bill, You're funny as heck! Parking meter? Really?
PM me your email address and we'll correspond directly. I'll send ya all the photos you can stand looking at.
Okay, serious for a moment: The package tray is supposed to be a tan cardboard, lightly pebble grained.
L/B is well aware of this but as they can't locate the correct material, they sell that brown crud that is not even close.

I suggest you purchase from L/B the cardboard in a sheet quantity - enough to cut the proper piece for your tray. At this point, you will at the very least have the (near) proper color and the proper material. If you want to go crazy (like I do) you can press a grain pattern in to it. I made a small roller to do this.
I am willing to bet if you ask Wendie at L/B what material (cardboard) they sell me, she can look it up and send the identical to you.
