The steering wheel in my 40 isn't straight. I believe I've read that adjusting the length of the drag link is the solution. Is this the solution and will doing so affect the toe in or alignment? Also whatt is tthe trick for removing the steering wheel? Is a special puller needed? Bill

To center the steering wheel, get the front wheels in a straight ahead position, then adjust the draglink, the part between the steering gear and the front axle until the steering wheel is in the correct position. And, yes, a steering wheel puller is the best way to remove the wheel from the shaft. Remove the horn button or ring by pushing in and turning it while holding the wheel. Be very careful not to damage the fine threads on the end of the shaft by prying or hammering it. Inexpensive pullers are available at auto parts stores. Adjusting the drag link will not affect toe in. Toe in can affect the perception of the wheel not being centered. If toe in is set incorrectly, the car can pull to one side or the other. This makes the driver correct the path and puts the steering wheel of center when going straight. Tom
