Were the inner fenders and other under hood sheet metal pieces on the 40 Ford painted with a satin or gloss black? What about black engine parts like the air cleaner, generator, starter and oil pan? Bill

Ford used a paint called "chassis black". It is a semi gloss paint. Eastwood Company sells a good one.
