Topic: Rear Window Straps

I see pictures of the straps at both sides of the rear window of the '40 convertible. I understand that these are for support to the heavy glass window. I also see that the straps, when released, collect at the bottom tray in order to lower the window when not lowering the top and not having the straps flap in the breeze. If I am mistaken on any of these points, I would be most grateful for clarification.

But my real question is: how do the straps connect (or are fastened) at the bottom? I can't find a picture of this anywhere.

As always, my restoration is made substantially easier by asking questions on this forum, so thanks to the contributors who take their time to help neophytes like myself....

You have quite a good grasp on this area of your car.
The straps are nailed in.
