One of my vent window glass is probably original but after 84 years has de-laminated. How has someone else been able to remove one ?

I have had these out a couple of times (one of my originals was broken when I got the car in 1975. The remaining one delaminated).

It should not be too difficult to remove-it is probably stuck to the old rubber tape that holds it in.

Open the vent window and it should slide straight out the back/open side of the frame.

  Good morning, Gene--

Take a really close look at your vent glass. Although delaminated, you should be able find the "glass bug" on it that gives the month and year of the car's manufacture. should be something like "3" on one corner of the glass and "40" on the other corner. Manufacture date was in March 1940.

Yes, I know that cars man manufactured in April, could have glass installed from the previous month.

For more info, you might contact Sanders Reproduction Glass. Go to "Links" on the blue portion of your screen and look for the "Vendors" link. tThey're in alphabetical order, so Sanders' info and website is down toward the bottom of the list.

Sanders is a good firm.

Good luck.

Tom, I had a good experience with Sanders on my 42 coupe. Their glass was actually a few thousandths thicker than the original Ford glass. On my 48 the vent window glass was noticeably thinner than the Ford glass and I ended up replacing it.

  Gene--

Glad you had a good experience with Sanders - so did I. They did all the glass when I had my 40 4 door sedan restored.

There's a h&%@ of a LOT of glass in that car!

I like the slightly thicker glass that they use.
