Topic: Power Valve-Thank you to the people on this forum!

I started having issues with my 1940 Ford idling properly. It also had a small stumble occasionally when taking off from idling at a light or stop sign. It was making a spitting/coughing noise from the exhaust pipe.

In trying to adjust the idle, I found I could run the Idle screws in all the way and the engine would continue to run (not well at all, but it would still idle).

From the people on this forum I knew that the first place to look was the Power Valve/Economizer valve.

I ordered the correct power valve from Daytona Parts (Jennifer was WONDERFUL) and had it in two days (I am in California, they are in Florida).

I took the carb apart this morning, after backing the car out of the garage, and found raw fuel in the chamber below the Power Valve-not good.

I installed the new valve and re-set the idle (much easier), then test drove the car. It is running beautifully again!

So "Thank you" to the people on this forum!
