I am getting ready to put new oil pan gaskets and seals on a 100 hp ford flathead, any suggestions

You don't say what year Flathead engine you are buying gaskets for. I assume that by "100hp" you are referring to a third generation Flathead V-8 made from 1949 (1948 for truck) to 1953. If that is correct, the gasket set you want is P.N. 8BA-6781 Oil Pan Gasket Set (with lower rope seals). Van Pelt has them available from Best Gasket. Buy the set and follow the instructions.
