Greetings Having trouble eliminating noisy fan belt. Tightening doesnt seem to work. Belt appears to be in good shape. Any suggestions. All inputs appreciated Classic Lover

Hey,classiclover, are all pulleys running straight and tru? if not belt,could be bearings not well in water pumps. years ago people used belt dressing on the belts. i believe because the belts left to long running loose too long pulleys would get a glaze. the belt dressing was a pine tar substance. use a auto stethescope to listen to water pump. tom.

squeaky fan belt do you have the correct belt. pully angle and depth ? how old is it ? is it hard, ?? it the belt riding on the bottom of pulley ? maybe causing it to slip, ?? is it a after market belt, NAPA believe it or not they may have a listing for your 1940 they have the correct belt for my 37 85 hp BELT DRESSING is a temp fix if at all my 2 cents 37 Ragtopman , Maine
