If you plan on using a Drake tank (they are nice replacement tanks) be aware that there is a strong possibility, you'll need to raise the back of the car a bit OR trim the edge of the tank. If simply, you want to get your tank repaired and reinstall it, then it's a fairly easy R&R. There are a total of three bolts that hold the tank to the frame. I'd suggest you start soaking the caged nuts now as they are often "frozen". If the bolts that hold the tank in are authentic, there will be a safety wire going through each bolt head and a "loop" in the frame rail. Remove the filler tube and rubber hose from the tank. Remove the wire from the sending unit. Push the tank as far to the left as possible. It should now clear the frame rail on the right. Drop the tank down on the right side and extract it from the frame. You may have to lift the left side of the tank a bit (there's not much clearance) while you lower the left side. Kind of a PIA task but still, very doable. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

if you want to repair your tank, try EASTWOODS gas tank sealer, comes with instructions go on line and check it out, it might be the easiest way and save BIG $$$ I just did a JEEP CJ 5 TANK and also one on my 37 760-A back in 1976 this is the best way to go. you will need to remove the tank from car but guess what, it will fit back in and your gas tank sending unit will also work my 2 cents, 37Ragtopman
