Topic: Wiper parking position

I replaced a stuck wiper motor in my '40 coupe with one that works great from a friend's stockpile. When I tested it, it parked the wipers in the outward position. Then I took it apart while replacing the gasket in the cowl vent. Now it parks the wipers in the inward position. Looks like there is only one way to put the arms on the motor. What determines where the motor parks?

There are a couple of devices that effect the park position.
The on/off slide plate, that is operated by the on/off lever, directs vacuum to the park position port when the lever is in the off position. The port under the slide plate, could be blocked.
There is a vacuum switching lever , under the stamped steel medal cover, it has to move freely, side to side, and not stick. There are several fragile parts in the area of the Y shaped switch lever, a small spring and the spring attaches to a thin fiber washer.

Thanks 40 Coupe. I took an old one that was stuck apart. Still can't see what determines where the wipers park. I also watched three videos on YouTube purporting to show how to repair Trico motors. They mostly just showed lubing them. I gave up and sent one in for rebuilding.
