Topic: Glove box wiring

Can someone explain or have a pic of how the wiring goes into the glove box for the light on the clock. I have a 40 fordor deluxe sedan.
Thanks,
Bob L.

  Hi Bob,
I am assuming you have a wind up clock?
If so, there are two wires that will enter the glove box through a brass grommet in the corner (bottom) of the box liner.
The wire with the socket is obvious. That end (with socket) simply pushes into the hole in the clock cover. The other end of that wire is attached to the lead in the harness beneath the lip of the instrument panel (dash board) with a rubber encased butt connector.
The other wire has a round eye on the end. That goes beneath the nut and washer of the glove box hinge. This is the ground wire.
If you would like a nice photo, let me know. i will need your email address.

Thanks, I think you answered my question thoroughly enough that I can get it right. If I can't I'll e-mail you for a pic.

  Dear 40 Ford owners:
Could someone of the "1940 Ford Vintage" post a picture of a '40 Ford clock. Think I stumbled upon one, but am not exactly sure what I have. Know it is not for my '48!
Thanks in advance for your assistance.
Best,
Bob

Bob, I can send you a photo of both the wind up clock as well as the electric. I need your email address.
