The 55 bulb fits nice in my Mercury and gives much more light than the 51. They may also fit the Ford instrument cluster. Tom

The wiring diagram shows 1 bulb for the clock. I am pretty sure that the 55 bulb will not work in the clock. Tom

Thanks Ken. The 55 bulb would not fit in my 1940 Mercury clock and i assumed that the size restriction would also apply the the 194 Ford Deluxe clock. Tom
