1932 thru 1942, the V-8 221 Cubic Inch Displacement, equals "18" see page one. In 1940, the 1400 plus" Ford cars" made with the 239 cubic inch V-8 Mercury engine , would have the pre-fix "99A" , see page two. There were over 4000 such 1940 Fords factory equipped with Mercury engines. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

Mike, thanks for the correction of the approx.. total of these 1940 Ford factory car's with the Mercury engines. I bet they were copying the rum runner's who were probably already doing this for some time. Domenic Domenic
