Here is a couple pictures of a mint original 1932 Thur 1935 Ford gas cap. This gas cap was recently sold by a well informed vendor. The vendor explained to me that the 1936 Thur 1940 gas cap is exactly the same except that the '36/ threw '40 cap is vented. Notice how the curved surface waterfalls right off the edge with no step. I asked the vendor if the cap was chromed stainless or chromed steel. I Know that all the stainless steel trim on the 1950's cars was flash chromed to save time instead of trying to Polish the stainless steel moldings.
