I have rebuilt my flat head and installed it into my 40 Ford. Everything seems to be going well except for the linkage shown in the attached photo. It came out fine when I pulled the engine and tranny. It seems to be a very small misalignment but I am stumped. All of the engine and transmission mounts are loose. The chatter rods are in place though. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thatpiece in your hand is spring loaded at the ball and socket. Try pushing it away from the transmission. If it will not move, you may have to move the other end where the ball and socket are located. There are 2 bolts holding the ball end in place. Tom
